In today’s post I present a teaser on how to combine the Möbius spiral model and the Magical quarter-circle. I’ve been toiling away, trying to combine everything I’ve learned these past five years into a single coherent whole. At the moment it looks like the paired helices of the Möbius spiral are moving along the arced paths depicted by the magical quarter-circle -shape.
If I’m at all on the right tracks, a frozen moment in time at the knotting point of the saint Hannes knot looks like this:
I’m still getting familiar with these shapes, so I won’t say much more. However, this new combined model does look logical. I’m not sure yet what to do next, but I think I’ll at least need to test whether I can fit the folding model to this greater whole. I still believe the folding model comes first and that anything else must follow the folding rules. It’s amazing how it’s been almost a month since my last post on the folds.
It just goes to show that mathematics can be hard. You can’t take shortcuts. Or if you do, you eventually have to go back and clear the road a, so that the people coming after you will be able to travel safely. Because shortcuts can lead to dead-ends…
