It’s Accepted! (The Preprint is: no Peer-Review Yet)

Today I’m proud to announce that my preprint “The Theory of Supramolecular Motion, the Primary Structure of Lignin and its Application to Adhesives” to ChemRxiv was accepted! Here’s the link!

Normally this wouldn’t be that big of a thing. Preprints aren’t peer-reviewed, so they don’t go through the same kind of scrutiny as journal articles. However, I know from my past history that ChemRxiv does screen preprints for content not following their guidelines. And for chemistry you need to present experimental results. And the presented theory must relate to the experimental findings. And this is the hurdle that I’ve passed!

This means that at least the million or so chemists in the world have a better chance of seeing my theory compared to them finding their way to my website. It’s really difficult to guess what will happen in the next days, weeks and months. Looking at ChemRxiv some papers in materials chemistry (where I submitted the manuscript) are downloaded almost 20 000 times.

I think just as long as the manuscript won’t be swamped  in the deluge of other papers, it has a good chance of becoming viral. But I will only know after a while. That it, unless it becomes viral really rapidly.

For today’s image, I just realize that I haven’t prepared an abstract image for the manuscript. I think I need to take an old image, like this image from two years ago:
